Income Guidelines

Vermont residents may be subject to follow income guidelines. If your household has more than five members, your eligibility will be assessed as part of the application process. Interest rates for high-income households are available to anyone with a household income above the moderate-income limits.

How to Apply

Please note: Do-it-yourself (DIY) projects are not eligible for the Home Energy Loan. The Energy Improvement Loan is a great option for ineligible projects and for DIYers who want to finance their energy improvements. To ensure your project meets the specifications for eligibility, direct any questions to Efficiency Vermont at 1.888.921.5990.

See Efficiency Vermont’s full list of qualifying home energy projects. The building must be a residential, owner-occupied one- to four-family unit that is physically located in Vermont.

Apply

Apply for your loan online and select Home Energy Loan from the product drop-down list. One of our home energy specialists will contact you to discuss your application.

Work with an eligible contractor

Find a contractor that has been approved by Efficiency Vermont and have them fill out this verification form before beginning work.

Number 4

Complete your project or purchase as planned

Your project must be completed to specifications in order to receive funding and any applicable rebates.
