Scholarship Awards & Eligibility
EastRise Credit Union awards five $5,000 scholarships, which will be paid jointly to you and your chosen accredited school. See if you’re eligible below:
Must be an EastRise member
Applicant must be a member in good standing with the credit union. Applicants using a parent’s member number will not be considered.
Attend an accredited school
Applicant must be applying to or enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program at a college, trade school, or university (minimum six-credit semester or the equivalent).
EastRise team members or volunteers, as well as members of their immediate families and households, are not eligible. Previous scholarship recipients are also not eligible.
Requirements & Application Process
Scholarship funds are dedicated to covering your tuition. Each recipient can receive one scholarship award, ensuring more opportunities for everyone.
An applicant must meet all of the following requirements to qualify:
- Completed scholarship application electronically
- Copy of your high school, college, or trade school transcript (unofficial copies will not be accepted) or GED (General Education Degree) and any related work experience. NOTE: Please make sure the name of the institution is on the transcript.
- A written essay in 500 words or more on how you plan to use your education to help build a strong and sustainable financial future for yourself.
Selection Process
Recipients are chosen based on academic achievement, leadership activities, service to the community, and responses to the essay question. A selection committee made up of individuals from EastRise will judge the application and contents.
Scholarships will be awarded based upon the applicant’s overall achievements and personal essay.
EastRise reserves the right to discontinue the scholarship at any time without notice. EastRise also reserves the right to withhold scholarship awards if there are no qualified applicants. Upon receipt of application, confirmation will be sent to the applicant.
Distribution Process
A letter of acceptance or proof of enrollment from the education institution is required as the scholarship will be paid directly to the recipient’s school. Documentation may be submitted with the application or any time prior to the payment.
